BOYSEN® Acrytex™

DESCRIPTION: BOYSEN® Acrytex™ is an acrylic solvent-based coating that forms a seamless, non-porous, watertight film that repels water and prevents seepage. It is noted for its excellent adhesion and long-term durability. Creates a very tight film, serving as a moisture sealant for concrete and a stain inhibitor for wood.

PRINCIPAL USES: For new and previously painted exterior and interior masonry, wood and properly primed steel.

PRACTICAL COVERAGE: textured finish -- 15 -18 square meter / 4 liters / coat  plain finish -- 25-30 square meter / 4liters / coat

SURFACE DRY: Thirty (30) minutes

DRY THROUGH: Two (2) hours

DRY FILM THICKNESS: 1.5 mils/coat

OVERCOATING INTERVAL: Two (2) hours

THINNING: BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Reducer #1750  

COLORANTS: BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Tinting Colors

PACKAGING: 16-liter and 4-liter cans

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Please refer to CHOOSE YOUR PAINT section for specifics.

PAINTING SCHEDULE:

Plain Finish:

  1. Prime surface with BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Primer #1705.
  2. Fill hairline cracks and minor surface imperfections with BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Cast #1711 using a putty knife.
  3. Spot prime puttied portions with BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Primer #1705.
  4. Apply 2-3 coats of BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Topcoat of desired sheen by brush, roller or spray.

Textured Finish:

  1. Prime surface with BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Primer #1705.
  2. Spray BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Cast #1711 with mortar gun. Press Acrytex™ Cast with wooden roller 10-15 minutes after spraying.(Note: wet wooden roller with BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Reducer #1750 to prevent the roller from sticking to the cast).    
  3. Apply 2-3 coats of BOYSEN® Acrytex™ Topcoat of desired sheen by brush, roller or spray.
