BOYSEN® Automotive Lacquer #1300

DESCRIPTION:  BOYSEN® Automotive Lacquer is a nitrocellulose-based, high gloss, lacquer type paint that is easy to apply, dries rapidly to a long-wearing attractive finish.

PRINCIPAL USES: For indoor wood and metal surfaces such as doors, doorjambs, cabinets, and shelves.

PRACTICAL COVERAGE:  25-30 square meter / 4 liters / coat

SURFACE DRY: 10 minutes

DRY THROUGH: 30 minutes

DRY FILM THICKNESS: 1.5 mils / coat

OVERCOATING INTERVAL: 1 hour

APPLICATION: by spray or natural hair brush (camel hair paint brush)

THINNING: BOYSEN® Lacquer Thinner #50

PACKAGING: 4-liter and 1-liter cans

SURFACE PREPARATION:

1. Wipe the surface with rag soaked in paint thinner to remove dust, dirt, grease, oil, wax and other foreign matter.
2. For new G.I. sheets, etch the surface by applying 10% Boysen Metal Etching Solution #71 (dilute 1 part of B-71 to 9 parts water).

PAINT APPLICATION:

1. Prime bare substrate with any of the following metal primers:
     · BOYSEN® Primeguard™ #4310. Let dry for 2 to 4 hours.
     · BOYSEN® Epoxy Red Oxide Primer. Let dry for 6 to 8 hours.
     · BOYSEN® Epoxy Primer Gray #2230. Let dry for 6 to 8 hours.

2. Finish with 2-3 coats of BOYSEN® Automotive Lacquer.  Dilute with BOYSEN® Lacquer Thinner as necessary. Add BOYSEN® Lacquer Flo at 10% by volume just before application to prevent moisture blushing.
