SURFACE PREPARATION:
1. Remove all loose, scaling, flaking, and peeling off paint by wire brushing, scraping, or rough sanding.
2. When necessary, use BOYSEN® Paint and Varnish Remover #141 but make sure that residue is completely washed off from the surface to prevent adverse reaction with succeeding coats. Let it dry.
3. Sand smooth painted surfaces for improved inter-coat adhesion.
4. In case of mildew infestation, treat affected areas with a fungicidal wash solution or household bleach mixed with water (1:3, respectively). Let the treatment overnight before wiping off residue with damp cloth. Let dry.
5. Acid etch smooth surfaces with a mixture of muriatic acid and water (1:1 ratio). Allow 2-3 minutes before scrubbing off and rinsing with water. Do not let the solution stay for more than 5 minutes. Let dry before painting.
PAINT APPLICATION:
1. Mix 3 parts of BOYSEN® Epoxy Primer White #2200 with 1 part of its curing agent. Allow 20 minutes induction time then dilute with BOYSEN® Epoxy Reducer #55 at 1:1 ratio. Use resulting mixture as primer. Let dry 6 to 8 hours. Succeeding coats must be applied not more than 7 days after.
2. Mix 3 parts of BOYSEN® Epoxy Enamel with 1 part of its curing agent. Allow 20 minutes induction time. Use resulting mixture as topcoat applying at least 3 coats. Let dry 6 to 8 hours in between coats. Full hardness develops after 7 days.
