Currently in its ninth year, Reader’s Digest Asia Trusted Brands is recognized for being one of the most representative and transparent branding surveys in Asia. Research shows that 76% trust the result of this survey because it is 100% consumer based. It is consumers themselves from the 7 key Asian markets of Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines who identify the nominees, give the criteria and ultimately determine the results—no product prompting, multiple choices or fill in the blanks. In this survey, only the consumer’s voice is heard.
Brands who excelled in the six core qualities of trustworthiness, credibility of image, quality, value, how well each brand understands consumers’ needs, and its ability to innovate, the Gold and Platinum awards were given out by Reader’s Digest. The Gold Trusted Brand award went to brands that score well above their competitors, while the Platinum Trusted Brand award was given to competitors that have achieved a rating score of at least double of their next competitor and have reached an average overall quality rate of 4 out 5. The Platinum status is indeed an immense recognition of trust and product dominance, made even more extraordinary BOYSEN® Paints, a proudly-made Philippine brand that is one of only three paint brands to be awarded the Platinum award in Asia.
